Hey there! Thanks for stopping by!
Simone is an Australian artist who lives in Sydney. She holds a Bachelor of Art Education from the College of Fine Arts, UNSW.
Simone has a neurological degenerative disability, and is a mother and wife. After being diagnosed with CMT and starting to lose her fine motor control, she moved away from teaching Visual Arts. Returning back to her true passion of art; she now uses art as therapy and mindfulness.
"Welcome to my world of colour, emotion and healing. I've always been an enthusiast of exploring and playing with the intuitiveness of creating. My artwork making process is deeply personal. Each piece is a reflection of my journey, my experiences, and the emotions that shape me at particular times in my life.
I'm most at home with abstract art. It's where freedom is found in the brushstrokes and mark making, and joy is found in colour. I'm endlessly fascinated by the little moments that come during the making process - the way paint blends in unexpected ways, the hidden textures and the spontaneous marks that give life to a canvas. The unplanned details are where the magic begins!
Art is my therapy and I'm obsessed with how the viewers engagement with colours and patterns can trigger the release of dopamine.
Every time you look at an abstract piece of art, you can absorb something new from the piece. It slowly exposes new lines, new information and new perspectives with each glance.
The art pieces you have should make you stop to look at them or glance at each time you walk past. Colour can have positive effects on our mental health, and therefore you should have walls that talk."
